Got sharp skills when it comes to data entry? This job’s for you!

In the healthcare industry, data is everything.

With the health and well-being of patients on the line, healthcare providers have zero margin for error when it comes to their comprehensive databases. Every piece of data has to be recorded with absolute accuracy.

Do you happen to be equipped with sharp senses and a conscientious mind? If these qualities are your strong suit, you’d be a great fit for this remote job.

Ashfield Engage, a brand that now resides under the Inizio umbrella, is looking for a healthcare data entry specialist who can work in a remote setup. With their razor-sharp skills and genuine concern for the clientele of healthcare programs, the data entry specialist can be a huge asset in the fields of biotechnology and life sciences.

Background of the company

Ashfield Engage describes its mission in the following way: “We deliver solutions to meet the needs of patients, care partners, healthcare providers, and payers to improve the treatment experience and outcomes.”

Specifically, Ashfield Engage provides solutions to clients across five specialist areas: medical affairs, market access, commercial, patient solutions, and event experiences. The company comes up with tailor-made responses rooted in human engagement, multi-platform distribution, and adaptive analytics.

In late June 2022, Ashfield joined forces with Huntsworth (another healthcare communication company) to form Inizio, which is branded as “a strategic partner to health and life science companies throughout the life cycle of their drug products.”

It’s worth noting that the Ashfield website is still up and running. Furthermore, the vacancy for a healthcare data entry specialist was posted under the name of Ashfield, so one can assume that it remains a distinct brand, its partnership with Huntsworth notwithstanding.

What responsibilities will I have?

Whether you want to call it Ashfield or Inizio, one thing’s for certain: The healthcare data entry specialist is an important position that requires proficiency in several kinds of tasks.

The responsibilities of a data entry specialist include the following:

  • Transcribing and entering data in program databases
  • Upholding patient privacy by adhering to the guidelines in the Privacy and Security Rules of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Managing the different communication channels of patients and healthcare providers, including email, chat, and fax (Yes, it seems fax is still a thing!)
  • Entering essential information into the case management system
  • Ensuring that requests are processed in a timely manner
  • Escalating difficult cases

What qualifications do I need to have?

Candidates need to have a high school diploma at minimum. Of course, applicants with a bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience get bonus points.

Since language skills are of the essence in this job, applicants are expected to have impeccable language skills (both of the oral and written variety). It would certainly help your cause if you’re a keen listener. Transcription is no joke!
