When was the last time you strolled into a Ross Dress for Less?

It’s always pleasant to see racks of branded clothing sold at a significantly lower price. Sure, some of these may be off-season or perhaps slightly marred by a manufacturing error or two. Still, Ross Stores tickles our fancy because of all the great bargains we can get.

Like any other thriving brand, Ross Stores relies on team members with well-defined roles. These employees—referred to as “associates” in company parlance—strive to work harmoniously to deliver high-quality services to customers. At the same time, the company culture inspires associates to help one another.

Would you like to become part of this great culture? If so, count yourself lucky because the company is hiring!

Ross Stores wants to hire a human resources representative who can work under remote arrangements. As you’ll see, this position entails coming to the aid of colleagues. If you’re an excellent team player, this work-from-home job may be just the thing for you!

More on Ross Stores

Ross Dress for Less is the brainchild of Stuart Moldaw, an entrepreneur and philanthropist who had more than one great business idea.

A World War II veteran and a graduate of Syracuse University, Moldaw began his long and storied retail career in Massachusetts. In 1955, he decided to take his act all the way to the Bay Area. As it turned out, the West Coast would bear witness to Moldaw’s staggering success in the retail business for decades to come.

From the late 1950s through the 1970s, Moldaw opened one business after another. These included junior apparel chain Pic-A-Dilly in 1973 and the Athletic Shoe Factory in 1974. Evidently, Moldaw’s passion was for apparel, but even as both brands picked up steam, he was nowhere near finished.

It was in 1982 that Moldaw launched the Ross Stores brand. That year, the business began as a six-store chain in San Francisco. Like Pic-A-Dilly almost a decade earlier, Ross Stores distinguished itself as an off-price retailer. It acquired excess inventory from big brands and aimed to turn a profit with slashed prices.

Moldaw’s Midas touch was still working in the 1980s, as evidenced by the $534 million that Ross Stores generated in total sales in fiscal 1986. By 1990, that number had grown to $804 million, driven by Ross Stores’ presence in 18 states.

Over the course of the 1990s and 2000s, Ross Stores continued to scale its business by making great strategic investments and expanding its product catalog. By the mid-2010s—a period in which annual sales were breaching the billion-dollar mark many times over—the company was eyeing a total of 1,500 to 2,000 locations in the long-term future.

Today, Ross Stores has more than 2,000 retail locations. Its workforce consists of more than 100,000 associates who work on-site and remotely. Apparently, this number is still not quite enough, and Ross Stores is looking to increase its pool of dedicated workers.

This is where you come in.
